
FinCEAL Plus Event Grant Call for Asia and the LAC Region Open
FinCEAL Plus has launched a Call for Event Grants with the purpose of supporting the organization of workshops, seminars, conferences or other types of events related to science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with Asia or the LAC region and Europe. In this Call, FinCEAL Plus awards grants between 2000€ and 4000€ depending on the nature of the event. Deadline for applications is 27th October 2016!
Open Call for FinCEAL Plus Event Grants for Asia and the LAC
The purpose of the FinCEAL Plus Event Grants is to support the organization
of workshops, seminars, conferences or other types of events related to
science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with the project regions (Asia
and the LAC region) or both Europe and the project regions. The grant is open
to research groups/teams based in Finnish research institutions, which are
actively engaged in cooperation or seeking to build new cooperation with
research partners from Asia and/or the LAC region and Europe.
Priority is given to the following types of events
- Consortia or networking meetings or workshops with Asian/LAC and European partners with the purpose of preparing an application for EU-research funding, e.g. Horizon 2020, ERA-NET Calls, EuropeAid research calls (the planned application must have a research element);
- Seminars, conferences or workshops related to Science, Technology, and/or Innovation cooperation with Asian/LAC and European partners that are open to a wider audience; and
- Networking meetings, workshops, seminars or conferences within the project thematic areas, relevant to the institutions’ research cooperation with the project regions, and open to a wider audience.
The event can be organized in Finland, another European country or in the
project regions. Priority is also given to events where participation is open
to interested parties outside of the host institution. Please note that FinCEAL
Plus can also support efforts to network and create contacts with European
partners in the case that a joint project is being planned, and partners from
the target region have already been identified.
The planned event must take place between 1st of December 2016 and 30th of June
2017. An event that is planned to occur outside of this time period cannot be
applied for.
Eligible costs and available funds
Through this Call, applicants are invited to submit applications for Event
Grants between 2000€ and 4000€ depending on the nature of the event. In
general, Grants awarded for domestic events will be smaller than the Grants
awarded for international events. Eligible costs include: travel and hotel
costs for invited speakers and expenses related to event organization (venue
rent, coffee breaks, event promotion and marketing materials, part of the
salary costs for the organizer).

published on the UniPID website.
