UniPID is a network of Finnish universities to advance universities' global responsibility and to strengthen their response to global challenges. UniPID offers a variety of support services for the interdisciplinary studies, research and societal impact of universities related to global development.
UniPID offers virtual courses and a Minor in Sustainable Development.
UniPID awards a yearly Master’s Award in Development Studies and supports the training and networking of Finnish doctoral students.
UniPID connects researchers and institutions engaged with global development within Finland, and to partners around the world.
UniPID coordinates the UniPID DocNet network for selected doctoral candidates and supervisors from UniPID member universities.
UniPID engages actively with policy makers, advocating for evidence-based policies and stressing the importance of higher education and research in facing global challenges.
UniPID facilitates researchers’ input in development and higher education policy, national and international research programs and priority areas in funding.
UniPID offers a variety of funding opportunties for researchers, lecturers, and partners from our member universities. Through the FinCEAL Plus project, UniPID offers grants to the Finnish scientific community to support cooperation activities.
UniPID has collected a number of opportunities for research, capacity building, and other types of activities related to development research.
The FinCEAL BRIDGES project (2019-2020) supports the development of partnerships and collaborative research activities between the Finnish research community and those in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and coordinated by UniPID.
