BRIDGES Delegation to the 4th UN STI Forum for the SDGs, 14-15 May, New York City, USA

The FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES Project will support a delegation of 3 senior researchers and experts to attend the 4th UN Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals, 14-15 May, New York City, USA.

The FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES Project will support a delegation of 4 senior researchers and experts from University of Helsinki and Tampere University to attend the 4th UN Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals, 14-15 May, New York City, USA.

The BRIDGES project opened a Targeted Travel Grant Call for the 4th UN Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals. The Targeted Travel Grant which targeted senior researchers based in Finnish universities and research institutions was open between 26 February and 15 March. The call was widely disseminated and was published on the UniPID and FinCEAL web pages, the FinCEAL monthly newsletter, Finnish higher education and research institutions' R&D personnel mailing list, in addition to the the project's social media pages.

The call attracted 12 applications, out of which 9 satisfied the call's minimum requirements. Applicants were drawn from the following universities: Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Tampere University (TAU), University of Helsinki, University of Jyväskylä, and University of Turku. The applications featured a rich pool of experts from varied faculties e.g. Built Environment, Energy systems, Philosophy and Social Sciences, Engineering, Computer and Human Interaction, Sciences, Management and Business, Education and Psychology, Law, and Economics.

BRIDGES awarded 4 grants but one grantee later declined the grant. The 3 remaining grantees are from the following institutions and faculties:
