FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES Delegation to European Development Days 2019 Selected!

FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES Funds a Delegation of 4 to European Development Days: 18 -19 June 2019, in Brussels Belgium.

FinCEAL+ BRIDGES will support a delegation of 4 researchers from Finland to the upcoming European Development Days. The delegation was selected through a BRIDGES Travel Grant call for the event. EDD 2019 is organised under the theme "Addressing Inequalities: Building a world which leaves no one behind" and will take place on the 18^th and 19^th of June.

Targeted Travel Grant Call for EDD 2019

The BRIDGES Travel Grant Call for EDD 2019 was launched in March.The call received applications from a variety of Finnish Higher Education Institutions; 7 universities, 2 independent research institutions and 1 university of applied sciences. In total, the call received 13 applications, 9 fulfilled the minimum requirements of the call. The call also attracted several applications (6 out of 13) from the Education discipline. The applications were very good in quality which made the available funds highly competitive. After thorough evaluation, FinCEAL+ BRIDGES awarded 4 Travel Grants.

The criteria for selecting grant recipients:

• ongoing cooperation with partners from Africa, Asia and LAC;
• relevant expertise/experience in the thematic focus of EDD 2019; and
• applicant's objectives for attending EDD 2019 in terms of individual applicant’s work, host institution's work and cooperation with the regions.
