
The Infobank competition grants given to four projects!
The third round of the FinCEAL Infobank competition was organized between May 29 and August 28, 2015. Over 50 new projects were added to the Infobank, which now hosts a total of 140 projects. Four registered projects (two Asia-related, one LAC-related and one Africa-related) were awarded a Travel Grant of 1500€ through a random selection process.

Africa
- Public and non-motorized transit in sub Saharan Africa, Aalto University, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Development of women fish farmer cooperatives in Nepal ,University of Eastern Finland, Faculty of Science and Forestry
- Scaling up low carbon household technologies in the lower Mekong sub region, University of Turku (FFRC), Turku School of Economics
LAC-region
- Ecohydrology of tropical montane forests of the Andean Amazon, University of Turku, Department of Biology
The given travel grant can be used either to support an existing project, or to support the development of a new project idea with African, Asian or LAC partners. We congratulate all the winners!!
- Facilitates knowledge exchange, communication and cooperation opportunities between researchers focusing on Africa, Asia and the LAC region in Finland;
- Acts as a platform through which Finnish Ministries and Missions Abroad, as well as potential academic partners from the regions can seek Finnish expertise
- Enhances transparency and increases the visibility of research and capacity building projects of Finnish research institutions
- Acts as a contact point for information dissemination on funding opportunities, collaboration possibilities and relevant events
