Mitochondria,as "energy factories", are responsible for creating more than 90% of the energy needed by the body to sustain life. Mitochondrial disease is a group of disorders cuased by dysfunctional mitochondria. About 1 in 4,000 children will develope this disease by the age of 10 years.Currently there is no specific method to detect this disorder clinically. This study is designated to develop a novel PET tracer for imaging mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), which is a key inditor for moniting mitochondrial function. This is an international collaboration project with China: one researcher comes from China and part of project will be performed in China (synthesis of precursor).

The objective of the study is to describe the complex and implicit process in which organizational culture are produced in the everyday working life. Drawing on the work of Schein (1992), I described organizational culture perceived by employees and analyze in three levels: artifacts (language, clothes) espoused values (prioritizing your work) and basic assumption (What’s the most important). From my ethnographic study at two large Chinese multinational companies located in Northwestern Europe, I found that Chinese and non-Chinese employees do not really communicate between each other, there are a lot of misunderstanding, tension, conflict on both side. My intention is to build dialog between Chinese and Western 1) experiences 2) theoretical models of organizational culture.

The project examines indigenous and Afro-American peoples’ ways to create new cognitive models for producing power. People from these backgrounds have been active in designing new education systems, engaging in politics, and creating new religious intersubjectivity in Latin America. We stress a ‘not-yet’ consciousness, modes of attention to the fact that something has still to happen or become. The proposed project focuses on agency constructions in different social, cultural, religious, and political contexts and the ideas of imagined (home)places and spaces based on indigenousness, ethnicity, and religion as they may affect people’s future transformation. We examine agencies including both human and non-human subjects. The global influences, technology, new contacts, new knowledge, and state policies are important factors in creative processes the actors can use for their agency construction.
