Karembe F. Ahimbisibwe is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He is also a Lecturer in the Department of Adult and Community Education at Makerere University, Uganda where has over 20 years of experience of teaching and supervising graduate and undergraduate students. His research focuses on citizenship, everyday resistance, participatory learning, grassroots associations and development, pandemic precarity, and NGOs. His work has been published in Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, Global Society, and International Development Planning Review, among others.

Salla Atkins

Salla Atkins is a social scientist and professor of Public Health (especially Global Health) at the Faculty of Social Sciences. She is also a research specialist at the department of Global Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institutet. For the past 16 years Salla has researched issues related to the social determinants of health, poverty, inequity, health systems and policy in low, middle, and high-income countries. Her interest is in mixed-methods and register research, especially multisectoral interventions to improve health and life course effects of social inequalities. Salla has coordinated large EU projects during her postdoctoral work and currently has projects in Finland in addition to collaborations with partners in Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, India, and South Africa on various projects related to health equity. Her work is situated in the space between international, national and regional policy, and individual lives.

Antti Autio

Antti Autio is a Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Programme in Interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences (DENVI) at the University of Helsinki. He holds a master’s degree in Development Geography and his dissertation research focuses on smallholder farmer’s adaptation to climate change in East Africa from the perspective of political ecology.

Soma Basu

I am a doctoral researcher in media studies at Tampere University, Finland, focusing on disinformation, gamification, hate infrastructures, mediatized memories, and political violence. I lead the social media research team for the Luce Foundation-funded project on Muslims in India under Hindu majoritarianism, alongside professors from Science Po, Princeton, and Columbia University. Previously, I was a fellow at Oxford’s Reuters Institute and the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies. I have over 20 years of experience as an investigative journalist, covering environmental justice, human rights, and conflicts in the Indian subcontinent, earning multiple awards, including the Kurt Schork Memorial Award. I have taught journalism at various Indian universities, am a certified media literacy trainer, and have conducted over 40 training sessions in India and Bangladesh. My work has been featured in major international media, and I was formerly India editor of AFP's fact-checking division.

Yuzhuo Cai

Yuzhuo Cai is a Senior Lecturer and Adjunct Professor at the Higher Education Group (HEG), Faculty of Management and Business, Tampere University, Finland. He has been with the HEG for 15 years and was the Acting Professor of the unit from August 2013 to July 2014. He is the (Chinese) Director of Sino-Finnish Education Research Centre jointly coordinated by Tampere University and Beijing Normal University. His teaching and research areas are higher education policy and management, internationalisation of higher education, innovation studies and comparative education, with 78 peer reviewed publications (59 in English) and 6 scholarly books in these fields.

Anndra Margareth Dumo

Anndra Margareth Dumo is an international doctoral student in the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Eastern Finland, working on an international multi-disciplinary research team. The long-term goal of my PhD dissertation is preparing the next generation of nurses in genomics/genetics nursing field. My personal goal is to become a nurse scientist and contribute in the career advancement of the nursing profession. The Siun Sote - Northern Karelia Social Services and Health Services Authority has offered me training as a family practitioner, caring for people with special needs and disabilities. The Biomedicine Department is helping me to enhance and upgrade my skills by providing laboratory training. I have worked in different research projects as one of their researchers like INEXCA Project funded by the European Union Horizon 2020, and Disruptive Green Project funded by TEKES with the Clinical Nutrition Department in their Quinoa Project as a clinical research nurse.
