Janet Carter Anand is an academic, educator and practitioner in social work. Currently a Professor in International Social Work, UEF, she has researched and published on global mindedness, cultural diversity, human rights and ageing and migration and quality of life. Janet is affiliated with the UEF Centre for Borders, Mobilities and Cultural Encounters, leads the IAASW Baltic Nordic Regional Resource Centre and is Editor of the Journal of Nordic Social Work Research and course director Sosnet Global Perspectives in Social Work of a new YUFE program on Global Migration and European Identity.

Anndra Margareth Dumo

Anndra Margareth Dumo is an international doctoral student in the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Eastern Finland, working on an international multi-disciplinary research team. The long-term goal of my PhD dissertation is preparing the next generation of nurses in genomics/genetics nursing field. My personal goal is to become a nurse scientist and contribute in the career advancement of the nursing profession. The Siun Sote - Northern Karelia Social Services and Health Services Authority has offered me training as a family practitioner, caring for people with special needs and disabilities. The Biomedicine Department is helping me to enhance and upgrade my skills by providing laboratory training. I have worked in different research projects as one of their researchers like INEXCA Project funded by the European Union Horizon 2020, and Disruptive Green Project funded by TEKES with the Clinical Nutrition Department in their Quinoa Project as a clinical research nurse. I am an active member of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG) https://www.isong.org/

I'm a project management professional with several years of experience in coordinating international cooperation projects in both academia and the private sector. My areas of expertise are: science, technology and innovation (STI) cooperation frameworks between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, EU-CELAC STI policy dialogue, internationalization of higher education and research, Latin American Studies and intercultural communication.

Lisa Grans holds a PhD in Public International Law from Åbo Akademi University (2018) and has published extensively on the issue of women’s rights, with a particular focus on violence against women. Her expertise also includes the prohibition of discrimination, the prohibition of torture and linguistic rights. Grans has worked practically for over 20 years with promoting the human rights of women and other disadvantaged groups in cooperation with the relevant governmental bodies in countries such as Georgia, Kosovo and Turkey, having been based in the latter two.

Jaana Jarva

Jaana Jarva is a senior scientist in environmental geology at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). She holds a PhD in geology from the University of Turku, Finland. She is specialized in the fields of environmental and urban geology, geochemistry, land use planning, geological risk assessment and climate change adaptation. She has worked as a project manager in several European research and regional development projects, as well as in national and international research and consulting assignments. She is currently acting as a project manager of four international projects on hydrogeology, climate change adaptation and environmental impact assessment. She holds IPMA Level C certificate.

Sociologist and trained welfare professional with a broad working experience in Finnish social services since 1980ies. Expert member in the administration courts of Helsinki and Hämeenlinna in matters of child welfare, adoption and disability services. Visiting researcher in the National Institute for Health and Welfare, Finland, THL. Research interest include: practice research in social work, science and technology studies, sociocybernetics, implementation studies. Research and development collaboration in Europe, Asia and LAC region.

Galyna Medyna

Following five years of research in the fields of product development and eco-design (including a PhD in mechanical engineering), Galyna worked for over three years as part of the Product Bureau at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. She currently works in Finland on issues related to the local bioeconomy and sustainability, including the further development of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (SLCA) frameworks and case studies.
