Course summary
The course contents comprise concepts, definitions and dimensions of sustainable development, indicators for sustainability, cases from different parts of the world.
Learning outcomes
- A general understanding how the process of sustainable development has proceeded
- Familiarity with the international background documents
- Understanding ways of measuring sustainability
- Familiarity with good practical cases
- Being able to discuss sustainability from several viewpoints and in relation to one's own life
Learning methods
Individual and group tasks, quizzes and writing a final essay.
Study materials
All study materials are available electronically.
Assessment
Grade 0-5. The final mark will consist of an evaluation of essay, individual and group tasks, quizzes, and active participation.
Course Schedule
Four thematic modules with deadlines for tasks 2 weeks per module, a longer period for the essay.

The maximum number of participants is 45.
