FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Grant Call to support the participation experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending "New technological businesses between Europe and Argentina to address challenges in Industry 4.0, Energy and ICTs" event in Buenos Aires, Argentina, or "Technological solutions for an integral urban growth" event in Lima, Peru.The events are organized by the ELAN - European Latin American Technology Based Business Network.

FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Grant Call to support the participation experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending the following events organized by the ELAN - European Latin American Technology Based Business Network.

27-28 June, Buenos Aires, Argentina

New technological businesses between Europe and Argentina to address challenges in Industry 4.0, Energy and ICTs

This event will allow attendees to find new international partners and create solid networks and long-lasting relationships for the co-generation of technology-based business opportunities between European and Argentinian companies in the field of Renewable Energy, Industry 4.0 and ICTs. It seeks to strengthen the existing actions and collaboration programs in Argentina in the area of innovation between the EU and LAC to give continuity to actions, enhance the impact of each initiative and simplify the agenda for those companies and institutions in Europe that are interested in joining. This meeting will be an opportunity to engage with the main public / private actors in the sectors defined in Argentina and the region. 4-5 July, Lima, Peru

Technological solutions for an integral urban growth. Sustainable business LAC-EU

"Technological solutions for an integral urban growth" aims to create spaces that promote the generation of technology-based businesses between Europe and Latin American in order to address the main challenges of the country in terms of sustainable growth. The event aims to address 6 main challenges: 1. Sustainable Construction, 2. Renewable energy, energy efficiency, 3. Territorial and urban planning, 4. Mobility / Transport, 5. Drinking Water and sanitation, 6. Waste treatment. It will involve the participation of the main actors of the private sector, the state, and the academy focused on sustainable local management, from Latin America and Europe. The event will be coordinated with Expo Energy Efficiency-EEE 2017. Organized by the ELAN network in cooperation with Sociedad Nacional de Industrias (SNI), Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica (CONCYTEC), Instituto Tecnológico de Producción (ITP)and TECNALIA. Information on the Travel Grants


The call is directed to experts focusing on or interested in building research and innovation collaboration with partners from the LAC region. Please note that this call is for researchers employed by a Finnish university or research institution only. Preference is given to institutions that have not received FinCEAL+ grants to ELAN events before.
Interested researchers should send a short description detailing their interest in the event and how it relates to their work. A CV or link to your profile should also be included.

FinCEAL+ LAC will award 1-2 Grants per event. The maximum grant for the Buenos Aires event is 1700€, and for the event in Lima, 1600€ . The Grant can be used to cover travel costs, accommodation, and daily allowances.
