FinCEAL Plus coorganizes China – Finland Research Seminar on STI Cooperation in Cleantech and Environment during NDIW 2015 in Shanghai on 4th November

UniPID – Finnish University Partnership for International Development in cooperation with China – Finland Strategic ICT Alliance are organizing a bi-regional seminar focusing on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation in Cleantech and Environment in Shanghai, 4th November 2015. The seminar will be a part of Nordic Design and Innovation Week 2015 (NDIW2015) and aligned with the CleanConnect Congress held in Shanghai at the same time.

UniPID – Finnish University Partnership for International Development / FinCEAL Plus in cooperation with China – Finland Strategic ICT Alliance are organizing a bi-regional seminar focusing on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation in Cleantech and Environment in Shanghai, 4th November 2015. The seminar will be a part of Nordic Design and Innovation Week 2015 (NDIW2015) and aligned with the CleanConnect Congress held in Shanghai at the same time.

The seminar is supported by Team Finland, Ministry of Education and Culture, Tekes, Ministry of Employment and Economy, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as other relevant entities from China and Finland.

The seminar invites experts on Cleantech, and Environmental Monitoring and Health, Urban Design and related areas from industry and academia, as well as Government representatives and other stakeholders from China and Finland to present and discuss about key technologies in cleantech and environment monitoring and health aspects. The seminar aims to provide a platform for developing concrete joint innovation and research cooperation initiatives.

The objectives of the Seminar are to:

• Provide a space for different stakeholders to share their expertise and experiences related to key topics;

• Discover untapped opportunities for cooperation and establish new partnerships in Science, Technology and Innovation between the two regions;
• Identify and highlight current successful practices for mutual learning;
• Strengthen the participation of the private sector from both regions in STI partnerships; as well as
• Identify new business opportunities and incentivize long term win-win commercial relations and formation of concrete new projects


We are now inviting experts from Finnish universities and research institutions to express their interest in joining the Finnish expert delegation to the event. Please contact FinCEAL Plus Asia Project Coordinator Jarkko Mutanen (Jarkko.Mutanen(at)uef.fi) with a brief description of your expertise in the field of Cleantech, Environmental Monitoring and Health, and previous experience and/or current interest in STI cooperation with China. The deadline of this quick call is 28.9.2015. The selected experts will be notified by 30.9.2015.
