Both events are jointly organised by the LEADERSHIP project and CINTEL – Telecommunications Research Center of Colombia and will take place in the framework of ANDICOM 2015, one of the most renowned ICT congresses in Latin America.
About the LAC-ICT Expert Group meeting on 2nd September: The LAC-ICT Expert Group is a forum created by the LEADERSHIP project to provide opinions and recommendations to EU-LAC dialogues on ICT R&I cooperation. The Expert Group is composed of 40 members from 10 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain and Finland). Its main scope is to coordinate efforts to support a strategy-led approach to policy-making on ICT in Latin America, and to enhance the effectiveness and coherence of EU-LAC research and innovation policies for cooperation in the field of ICT.
The event will consist of two central panels aiming to explore "what is next” in Regulations, Digital Agendas and Funding Mechanisms, setting the basis for a new year of work, analysis, and further strategic recommendations to policy makers in Latin America and Europe; addressing the question of future inputs to move forward in the political dialogue in ICT R&I. About the LAC-Living Labs Spring School on 3rd September: The LAC-Living Labs Spring School aims to:
- Strengthen the collaboration, innovativeness, impact and people driven involvement in innovative Living Labs processes among the network of LAC-Living Labs;
- Identify challenges and areas of common interest for regional and bi-regional collaboration;
- Train of trainers on participatory open innovation and co-creative methods
- Provide feedback and input on Living Labs challenges in Latin America to the LAC-ICT Expert Group and to the ICT Working Group of the EU-CELAC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM).

FinCEAL Plus is now looking for an expert based in a Finnish institution (university, university of applied sciences or research centre) to attend these events. The chosen expert will receive a Targeted Travel Grant of max. 2600€ to cover costs related to travel, accommodation and daily allowances.
To apply, please send a short description (no more than one page) detailing your interest in the event, i.e. why do you want to attend, how the events are related to your work and what is the expected benefit of the event for you and your institution. A CV or link to your profile should also be included. The applications should be sent by 31st July 2015 to Kajsa Ekroos, kajsa.ekroos[at]helsinki.fi. Please note that due to the holiday season, any questions related to the events or the Travel Grant can only be addressed if sent by 2nd July at the latest. The selected expert will be notified by 5th August.
