FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call to support the participation of a maximum of 6 experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending the Info Day on the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Work programme 2016-2017 ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy’ in Brussels 14th – 15th September 2015.

FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call to support the participation of a maximum of 6 experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending the Info Day on the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Work programme 2016-2017 ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy’ in Brussels 14th – 15th September 2015.

This event, which is organized by the European Commission, targets potential applicants to the calls for project proposals under the H2020 challenge ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy’.  On September 14, the new Work Programme for 2016-2017 in the area of H2020 energy research will be presented, whereas on September 15, there will be in-depth sessions on various calls of the Work Programme. In addition, participants will have numerous networking opportunities throughout the days.

The call for Targeted Travel Grants is directed to experts focusing on any of the three FinCEAL Plus regions (Africa, Asia and/or the LAC region). Two experts focusing on each region will be funded. Please note that this call is for researchers residing in Finland only, and only for this particular event.

The maximum individual grant is 850 euros and can be used to cover travel, accommodation and daily allowances.  To apply, please send a short description (no more than one page) detailing your interest in the event, i.e. why do you want to attend, what is the benefit of the event for you and your institution, and how does the event relate to your work. A CV or link to your profile should also be included. Also indicate which of the sub-topics of the event you are interested in: smart grids; storage; renewable energy sources: non-bio; renewable energy sources: bio; energy efficiency; carbon capture & storage; unconventional hydrocarbons.

The deadline for the applications is now 30th June at 12:00. All applications should be sent by email to kajsa.ekroos[at]helsinki.fi. Any questions regarding this call and the applications can be sent by email to Kajsa Ekroos. Applicants will be notified about the results by 8th July.
