FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call to support the participation of a maximum of two experts to participate in the GCHERA 2015 Conference in Lebanon 24-26 June 2015. The call is directed to experts whose geographic focus is on Africa.
FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call to support the participation of a maximum of two experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending the 8th World Conference of the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agriculture and Life Sciences (GCHERA) in Lebanon 24th - 26th June 2015. The theme of the conference is "Universities’ Global Challenge: Nutritional Security and Environmental Sustainability for Human Health”. The key sub-themes of the conference are
- The role of Education and research: from food security to nutritional security;
- The role of nutrition in transforming health care from a disease to a health based system;
- Sustainable Agriculture: Feeding 9 billion with a smaller environmental footprint; and
- Innovation through Agricultural food system entrepreneurship

The call is directed to experts whose geographic focus is on Africa.
The maximum individual grant is 1500 euros and can be used to cover travel, accommodation, daily allowances and the registration fee. Please note that early bird registration for the conference is open until 15th March 2015.
To apply, please send a short description (no more than one page) detailing your interest in the event i.e. why do you want to attend, what is the benefit of attending for you and your institution and how does the event relate to your work. A CV or link to your profile should also be included. Please note that this call is for researchers based in Finnish institutions only, and only for this particular event.
