FinCEAL has opened a Call for Event Grants with the purpose of supporting the organization of workshops, seminars, conferences or other types of events related to science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with the LAC region. In this Call, FinCEAL awards grants between 2000€ and 6000€ depending on the nature of the event. Deadline for applications is 13th February 2015!The purpose ofthe FinCEAL LAC Event Grants is to support the organization of workshops, seminars, conferences or other types of events related to science, technology and/or innovation cooperation with the LAC region or both Europe and the LAC region. The grant is open to research groups/teams based in Finnish research institutions, which are actively engaged in cooperation or seeking to build new cooperation with research partners from the LAC region.
Priority isgiven to the following types of events:
a) Consortia or networking meetings or workshops with LAC (and European) partners with the purpose of preparing an application for EU-research funding, e.g. Horizon 2020, ERA-NET Calls, EuropeAid research calls (theplanned application must have a research element);
b) Seminars, conferences or workshops related to Science, Technology, and/or Innovation cooperation with LAC (and possibly European) partners that are open to a wider audience; and
c) Networking meetings, workshops, seminars or conferences within FinCEAL thematic areas (Bioeconomy, Renewable Energy, Health, ICT for Societal Challenges,Climate Change and Biodiversity) relevant to the institutions’ cooperation with the LAC region, and open to awider audience.
The event can be organized in Finland, another European country or in the LAC region. Including European partners in the event is not mandatory, but preferred. Priority is also given to events where participation is open to interested parties outside of the host institution.
Through this Call, applicants are invited to submit applications for Event Grants between 2000€ and 6000€ depending on the nature of the event. Eligible costs include: travel and hotel costs for invited speakers and expenses related to event organization (venue rent, coffee breaks, event promotion and marketing materials, part of the salary costs for the organizer). The event must be supported by the host institution for example by providing the venue or paying for the salary of the organizer at least partially.
Note: The planned event must take place between1st of March and 30th of November 2015. An event that is planned to occur outside of this time period cannot be applied for. An event that is part of the project plan of an already-existing project cannot receive a FinCEAL Event Grant.
