FinCEAL has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call tosupport the participation of a maximum of 3 experts from Finnish universities or research institutions interested in attending the Information Day & Brokerage event on Horizon 2020 – Smart Cities and Communities 2015 Work Programme organized by the European Commission on Thursday February 12th in Brussels, Building Charlemagne, Rue De La Loi 170.

A new call for proposals for Smart Cities and Communities solutions integrating energy, transport and ICT through lighthouse projects under Horizon 2020 (SCC-01-2015) was opened on 10 December 2014 (deadline date for submitting proposals is 5 May 2015).

The information day will take place in the morning and will:

  • Informparticipants about the call objectives, requirements and specificities
  • Providerelevant insights and lessons learnt from the 2014 SCC-01 call.

    In the afternoon, a brokerage event will provide a chance for people to discuss, exchange ideas, network and meet potential partners to create new or strengthen existing consortia. Participation in the event is free of charge but registration is compulsory and applications will be dealt with on a "first come, first served” basis. Please note that registration is already open and will remain open until 10 January 2015.
Themaximum individual grant is 800 Euros and can be used to cover the costs related to travelto the event, accommodation and daily allowances. Interested applicants should send a short description (no more than one page) detailing their interest in the event i.e why do you want to attend, what is the benefit of attending for you and your institution, how does the event relate to your work? A CV or link to your profile should also be included. Preference will be given to researchers with the aim of submitting a proposal in the call for proposals for Smart Cities and Communities of Horizon 2020. Please note that this funding call is only for researchers based at Finnish institutions, and only for travel to this particular event.
