FinCEAL INFOBANK Competition open for research projects related to Africa and the LAC region!

FinCEAL Infobank is a multidisciplinary database on research related to Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) carried out by the Finnish science community. From June 2014, FinCEAL will begin promoting the Infobank to International Networks and Finnish Missions abroad to highlight the Finnish expertise related to the regions and to make it more accessible to Finnish and International authorities. Register you project by June 5th 2014 and also get an opportunity to win a travel grant of 1000€!

FinCEAL INFOBANK- Market your expertise abroad and Compete for a 1000€ Travel Grant!  

FinCEAL Infobank is a multidisciplinary database onresearch related to Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) carried out by the Finnish science community. After its launch in late 2013, nearly 40 exciting projects with themes varying from Policies and Practices of Tourism Industry to ICT supported Forestry Education and Indigenous Food Innovations, have already been registered to the database.  

From June 2014, FinCEAL will begin promoting the Infobank to International Networks and Finnish Missions abroad to highlight the Finnish expertise related to the regions and to make it more accessible to Finnish and International authorities.

Guidelines for the Infobank Competition

  • Four registered projects (two LAC-related and twoAfrica-related) will be awarded a grant of 1000€ through a random selection process.
  • All team projects registered in the Infobank byJune 6th 2014 are eligible, including those registered prior to the opening of the competition.
  • Individual research projects are not eligible for thecompetition, although they can still be registered in the Infobank.
  • Both research projects and capacity building projectsare eligible.
  • The registered projects are approved by FinCEAL priorto being published on the Infobank. Projects that do not meet the purpose and criteria of the Infobank will not be published and are not eligible for the competition.

    Use of the grant

  • The travel grant can be used either to support anexisting project, or to support the development of a new project idea with African or LAC partners.
  • The grant can be used to support the travel ofeither the Finnish or the Southern team member.

    The competition is open until June 6th, 2014 at www.unipid.fi/infobank. The winners of the travel grant will be informed by June 18th.
