UniPID - Finnish University Partnership for International Development / FinCEAL Plus together with CIECTI, Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE) and Lund University, are organizing a high-level research and innovation seminar on bioeconomy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 18-19 October 2018. The seminar aims to strengthen research and innovation cooperation between Nordic and Southern Cone countries by offering a forum for knowledge sharing, networking and developing new project ideas.

UniPID - Finnish UniversityPartnership for International Development / FinCEAL Plus together with CIECTI, Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE) and Lund University, are organizing a high-level research and innovation seminar on bioeconomy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 18-19 October 2018. The seminar aims to strengthen research and innovation cooperation between Nordic and Southern Cone countries by offering a forum for knowledge sharing, networking anddeveloping new project ideas.
The program of the event is organized in plenarysessions, in which high-level experts will address the strategic dimensions of
the main themes selected for the event: Forest bioeconomy, Agro-based sustainable innovations, and Blue bioeconomy; and parallel thematic working groups focused on thesubthemes within each of the aforementioned nucleus. The
target group of the seminar are researchers, private sector representatives, policy
makers and representatives of funding agencies from the Nordic and SouthernCone countries. For more information, please see the Concept Note and draft Programme of the event.
FinCEAL Plus is now inviting experts from Finnish universities, researchinstitutions and universities of applied sciences to express their interest in
joining the Finnish delegation to the event. We are looking for experts from
the following fields:
- Agro-based new technologies (Clean agriculture; Technological upgrading of productsand processes and innovative uses of agro biomass as raw material
- Sustainable agriculture practices (Exploitation of agricultural waste; Food 4.0)
- Third generation biofuels and small scale refineries; Biomaterials
- Blue bioeconomy (Use of sea biodiversity and bioproduction for newvalue-added products; New technologies for the sustainable use of water)
- Forest bioeconomy (Innovative wood-based new materials and chemicals, Forestbioenergy)

with Argentina and/or the other Southern Cone countries. Indicate also the

The deadline of this call has been extended to Thursday 16th August, 2018. The selectedexperts will be notified by 17th August at the latest. FinCEAL Plus will offer TargetedTravel Grants of max. 2000€ to the selected experts.
 Southern Cone (Spanish: Cono Sur) is a geographic andcultural region composed of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Parts of Southern and Southeastern Brazil and Paraguay can politically and socially also be considered tobe part of the Southern Cone.
