FinCEAL+ Targeted Grants for Various Events in Education, Renewable Energy and Earth Observation

FinCEAL Plus Africa has opened 3 travel grants to attend various events related to Education, Energy and Earth Observation in line with the project's themes on ICT, Renewable Energy and Space.

Call for Senior Researchers and Senior Management - Delegation to South Africa alongside the Ministerial Visit 29th May - 3rd June, 2017

FinCEAL Plus is organizing a side-event to take place during the planned visit of the Finnish Minister of Education that will take place at the end of May. The event will be organized in cooperation with other strategic stakeholders like the Academy of Finland and local partners. The side-event will be based on exploring collaboration opportunities in Education Research, Edutech and ICT applications for teaching and learning. FinCEAL Plus will partially fund (a grant of 1500€) up to 10 experts to take part in the visit. The participants will form part of the Ministerial delegation and will have an opportunity to take part in the other planned activities taking place during the visit. Representatives from Finnish HEI's and Independent Research Institutions (Senior Researchers or Senior Management staff working with Research and Innovation) interested in being part of the delegation should contact Eva Kagiri (eva.m.kagiri(a)jyu.fi) by 31st March, 2017 with a short description (max.1 page) detailing their interest in the event and how it relates to their work. A CV or link to your profile should also be included.

Call for Scientists Working with Sustainable Energy to Attend ANSOLE Days, 5th-8th May, Hammamet, Tunisia

Are you a scientist working with sustainable energy issues? FinCEAL Plus Africa in collaboration with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme is organizing a science and business slam at the ANSOLE Days 2017. Young scientists (not older than 35) from Finnish research institutions are invited to apply to take part in this interesting event. FinCEAL Plus will fund 2-young scientists.

Call for Scientists Working with Earth Observation Tshwane, South Africa 8th -12th May 2017

The
37th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE-37) will convene in Tshwane under the theme"Earth Observation for Development and Adaptation to a Changing World”. In the current phase of FinCEAL Plus, earth observation has been adopted as an important theme under the Space theme in the Africa component. Scientists working within Earth Observation especially in relation to Food Security, Agriculture and/or Climate Change interested to attend this event are invited to apply for funding by sending a short description (1 page max.) to Eva Kagiri eva.m.kagiri(a)jyu.fi detailing their interest in the event and how it relates to their work. A copy or link to your CV/Profile should also be included. FinCEAL Plus will award 3 grants of 1500€ each. Applications should be sent by 31st March.
