UniPID and FinCEAL Research and Innovation Cooperation with Africa, Asia and LAC regions –

UniPID and FinCEAL Plus organized the “Research and Innovation Cooperation with Africa, Asia and LAC regions – Future Prospects for Science and Policy” –seminar in Think Corner, Helsinki on 11th of October. More than 80 participants joined the event on-site and another 80 through the live Internet streams. The event provided a platform for discussing the outlook and driving factors on for the current and future cooperation with the target regions.

ASEAN-Finland Research Seminar organized at the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Finland in Helsinki on 25 September was a success!

UniPID - Finnish University Partnership for International Development / FinCEAL Plus, University of Helsinki and the Embassies of Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Royal Thai Embassy in Finland and the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Finland organized a high-level ASEAN-Finland Research seminar focused on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), and research cooperation between Finland and ASEAN countries. The seminar was also live-streamed to the Internet. The seminar brought together experts from academia, industry as well as government representatives and other stakeholders from Finland and Southeast Asian countries to present and discuss about the present and future research cooperation between Southeast Asia and Finland, opportunities and challenges for research collaboration with Southeast Asian institutions and to discover untapped opportunities for cooperation and to establish new partnerships and to discover untapped opportunities for cooperation and establish new partnerships in STI between the two regions and provided a space for different stakeholders to share their expertise and experiences and provided a platform for developing concrete joint research cooperation initiatives.

UniPID travel grants to support fieldwork for Master’s theses on development topics

UniPID launches a call to support the fieldwork for Master’s theses on global development issues. The grants of up to 1000 euros will be awarded to individuals who are in the process of collecting data and writing their Master’s theses and whose thesis process would benefit from a travel grant to a destination outside Finland.

FinCEAL Plus Asia has opened a Targeted Travel Grant Call to support the participation of 1-3 senior level experts from Finnish universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutions interested in attending the Matchmaking Tour to China (Suzhou, Wuxi (Yixing) and Shenzhen) organized by ENRICH-European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs, China 11-16 November 2018. The Finnish University Partnership for International Development - UniPID and the University of Jyväskylä ordered a comprehensive assessment of the FinCEAL Initiative with the following two main goals: 1. To evaluate the achievements of the FinCEAL Initiative against its goals and objects; and 2. Assess FinCEAL's contribution to enhancing research and innovation cooperation with the target regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.
