UniPID Virtual Studies nominated as a Finnish entry for the UNESCO-Japan Prize on ESD

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hands out a prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) funded by the Government of Japan, which consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient. The prize was awarded for the first time in 2015.

Master's Award in Development Studies 2017

The Finnish University Partnership for International Development – UniPID and the Finnish Society for Development Research (FSDR) jointly seek exceptional Master’s level theses from UniPID universities to be awarded. The Master’s Award in Development Studies 2017 will be presented in conjunction with FSDR’s Development Day Seminar 2018. The prize sum is 1,000 euros. There will also be two honorable mentions for exceptionally meriting works.

Indonesia – Finland research seminar: Opportunities and Challenges in Research Collaboration was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Helsinki on Tuesday, April 4th 2017. The seminar was co-organized with the Embassy of Indonesia in Finland and the University of Helsinki. The seminar gathered 45 participants including researchers (professors, post docs and PhD students), research funding organizations and government representatives and other stakeholders from Finland and Indonesia.

Virtual Studies Programme Evaluation Published

A new evaluation report of the Sustainability in Development Virtual Studies Programme has been published. The data for the evaluation was gathered from course feedback, and two evaluation questionnaires that were sent out in 2014 and 2015.

Indonesia-Finland Research Seminar: Opportunities and Challenges in Research Collaboration, at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Helsinki 4th April 2017

The high level event will be co-organized by UniPID-FinCEAL Plus, University of Helsinki and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Helsinki, Finland. The seminar is targeted for principal investigators, researchers, PhD students and international staff and policy makers from Finnish institutions and members of business research or companies in Finland who are focused on Indonesia. The topics are focused on-but not limited to-renewable energy, ICT, health, food security and safety, water management, clean-tech, nanotechnology research areas and related research policy issues.
