FinCEAL Plus Asia Targeted travel grants to ERICENA matchmaking tour to China, 24th-31st October 2017

FinCEAL Plus Asia has opened a Targeted Travel Grant Call to support the participation of 1-3 senior level experts from Finnish universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutions interested in attending the Matchmaking Tour to China (Chengdu, Beijing and Qingdao) organized by ERICENA-European Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence in China 23-31 October 2017.

ERICENA - European Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence in China will be officially launched and setup in Beijing in October 2017 with a first regional Centre in Chengdu, during Matchmaking tour in Beijing, Chengdu and Qingdao from 24th until 31st of October 2017.

ERICENA aims to promote European Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) interests and to reinforce the leadership of European countries in STI in China by connecting and supporting European researchers and entrepreneurs. The project is built by a consortium of 13 European and Chinese partners and a network of 128 partners that act as regional innovation centres.

Leading technology-based companies and research institutes - as well as innovators - will be visited and opportunities for business initiation will be offered. The participants will also get an entry to the EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair in Chengdu and Qingdao- one of the largest platforms for EU-China investments as well as trade and technology cooperation. The following kind of organisations are welcome to join the tour:

  • Enterprises, Business Networks and Clusters
  • Universities and University Associations, Research Institutes and Research Networks
  • Science Parks, Incubators, Accelerators and Funding agencies

Information on the Targeted Travel Grants

The call is directed to experts focusing on or interested in building further collaboration with partners in China. Please note that this call is only for senior level experts (with a strong academic background), of Finnish universities, universities of applied sciences and research centers, and residing in Finland only, and only for this particular event. Interested researchers should send a short description detailing their interest in the event and how it relates to their work and FinCEAL Plus Asia thematic areas. A CV or link to your profile should also be included.

FinCEAL+ Asia will award 1-3 Grants. The maximum individual grants are between 1400€-1500€ depending on the destination and departure city in Finland. The Grant can be used to cover travel, accommodation, and daily allowances. The deadline for sending the travel grant applications is 13th of September. The deadline for the registration to the Matchmaking tour is 17th of September.
